About Hospitality Apprenticeship Scotland
A collective of leading Scottish hotels has created a world‑class, industry‑led apprenticeship programme designed to give young people a clear and exciting career path in hospitality. This unique programme nurtures future leaders and develops highly skilled talent for Scotland’s growing hospitality industry.
Programme Overview
Learn while you earn through an 18‑month structured programme:
Department Rotations
You’ll spend 6 months in each core area:
- Housekeeping
- Front Office
- Food & Beverage (Restaurant/Bar)
What You’ll Experience
A flexible learning journey within a supportive framework, including:
- Hands-on skills development
- Increased sector knowledge
- Visits to local tourist venues to support guest engagement
- Sector‑specific training
- E‑learning modules
- Real hospitality experience with employers
- Development of future‑focused meta‑skills
- Use of technology, including e‑portfolios
- Nationally certified SVQ in Hospitality Services (Level 5)
- A graduation learning journey with hospitality leaders
Who We’re Looking For
The most important quality you need is a willingness to learn.
No prior qualifications are required — just enthusiasm, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
Requirements:
- Age 16–24 at the apprenticeship start date
- Basic communication, literacy, numeracy, and IT skills
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Scottish residency and a National Insurance number
Work trials are encouraged, and existing employees can apply.

What You’ll Receive
- £12.36 per hour (18+) or £10.30 per hour (under 18)
- (Rates increase in line with national minimum wage from April 2026)
- TRONC & service charge shared across the team
- 30 days holiday per year (pro rata)
